But it’s a win, so I’ll take it and pass on the perfume, makeup, and body image references from TLC. I realize that we fell short of our ten-run mark today, but a win’s a win and for one day I don’t care.
I gots to give some props to Juan. I did not forsee him having any multiple base-reaching games this year, not to mention three extra-base hits, two walks, four runs scored, and no grounding into double plays within a three-game series. [I'm overlooking those four strikeouts for the moment.] But please, don’t go talking about it or he’ll notice that we’ve noticed his non-slacking, non-rally-killing offensive performance.
It’s nice to see a game in which nobody joins the walking wounded. I’m not convinced Duncan will be healthy and ready to contribute on Tuesday, but here’s to hope. Speaking of hope, I love it when references to the Cardinals legitimately make it into my minister’s sermons. This morning while speaking about hope, I heard “We have hope… that the Cardinals will win more games.” Just for the record, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the Rams or Blues referenced in a religious setting; this city absolutely bleeds Cardinal red.
It’s looking more like Wilson will be out for most of the season. Apparently, knee surgery is not an “if” question, but more of a “when and which” question. One surgery would be more of a cleanup/band-aid move, the other would alleviate the problem and likely remove the need for a secondary surgery in the future. Since he’s old and scarred up, the better choice is probably for the more aggressive surgery which would keep him out for longer but be better for his long-term health.
